LOVED IT, LOVED IT ,LOVED IT, LOVED IT... LOVED IT!

Honestly, very difficult to state just how much I enjoyed the weekend, and how much positive impact this is going to have on my business, and my life, seriously, I'm not saying this to suck up, it was just awesome! 

And this isn't even the testimonial, I'll come to that in a minute ;-), although you can use any / all of this email in anyway you like. 

You’re a superstar Alan, and I know everyone else who was on the course would definitely agree with that, I know from the conversations we were all having in the breaks & in the evening, everyone walked into that room respecting you, but walked out LOVING you, honestly mate you had a huge impact! 

You should be really happy with yourself, to say you over delivered is a complete understatement, it was just immense!  I wanted to tell you last night before I left just how amazed I was by the whole weekend & what an impact it’d had on me, but I didn’t want to show myself up so I thought I’d email you instead ;-) 

You know, all the way home I was listening to ads being played on the radio & pulling them apart & re-writing them in my head! When I got home, I picked the newspapers up, and all the fliers  & little ad mags that had been posted, and started pulling them apart & re-writing them there & then, at gone midnight, I couldn’t help it!

Stevo was dynamite, I can’t believe he only started doing this last year, incredible, and he’s a natural public speaker too!   

Raja was absolutely brilliant too, I was very impressed with him, and I think the balance between yourself, Stevo & Raja  was just perfect, not only that but the continual dialogue  & humour between the three of you really helped as well. 

So – you want to know how I’m planning to use what I learned? 

(By the way, I think this was a great Idea, to ask people to email you with this, as not only will it increase the chances of everyone actually taking action & help to stop people from procrastinating, it also shows people that you do actually want them to go out & use this, you’re not just interested in getting their cash, this was a nice touch.) 

I’m planning to both use the new copywriting skills for all my own projects & to start working as a copywriter. Currently I have my own projects & work as an SEO consultant, but as I was telling you, I don’t do much of that now, only a couple of clients as it’s such a ball ache. But I do want to work with other people as well as on my own projects, so I’m going to concentrate on copywriting now, as well as using it to improve the results for my own businesses & projects.

If you remember before the course I emailed & asked what the catalyst was to get into copywriting on a high level quickly? 

I’ve realized after the course that there is a catalyst, but that it’s different for everyone, and that you have to look at your own circumstances & see what suits you most individually based on your circumstances & personality. 

With you, your catalyst was the fact that you’d already done some really effective copy for your salons which has massive impact on the businesses, and which got you recognition, and gave you confidence in your ability to go out & work as a copywriter – combined with your natural ability to speak in public & the fact that this doesn’t scare the crap out of you (which is does to a lot of people, including me) you used this as your catalyst, to go out & speak publicly, and get your first paying clients in, and it all lead from there. (By the way, I hate public speaking, scares the hell out of me, I’m thinking of having hypnotherapy to try to change this, as it’s a skill I will need in the long term, but it’s certainly not something I have going for me right now).

 With Stevo, he used his energy & enthusiasm & willingness to jump in & get stuck in, and work without pay to get in his first few clients & get referrals, and this was his catalyst which propelled him from zero to hero at hyper speed. 

So on the drive home last night I was thinking about my own circumstances, my own personality, to decide exactly what I was going to use as my catalyst. I realized that what I have going for me, is all the projects & businesses of my own that I’m involved in, my lists & contacts as a result of these, the many web marketers I have as friends & contacts, my SEO clients, and my willingness to work long & hard. 

So, to begin with, I’m going to concentrate on Web copy, in order to get experience, testimonials & referrals. Reason being, I think this will have the fastest impact, rather than waiting for people to run my copy in publications & do new mailshots, changes to web sales copy is instant & as long as I choose partners who already have traffic, I could get results for them instantly.  Also I think online is a lot easier to track than offline, so It will be a lot easier to get decent quotable figures. 

I’m going to email my SEO list, and offer to re-write the sales copy for the “first three replies only.” Then I’ll cherry pick from the replies, based on which sites I think I’ll have the best impact on in the shortest amount of time, based on what their copy is currently like & how much traffic they’re getting.  I’m not necessarily going to keep it to three, I’ll just do whichever ones I am sure I’ll make a positive impact on quickly. 

I’m a member of Mike Filsaime’s butterfly marketing forum, and there’s a section there for member offers, I’m going to get my first paying customers by contacting the other members who I know I’ll be able to help, and offering a deal they can’t refuse. They all have cash as they’ve just spent $1500 on butterfly marketing, so I think this should be a good source of paying clients. 

I’m going to start today by going through all my notes & everything in the flash drive, and I am hoping that I’ll get results quickly with my own projects & with the free web sales copy re-writes, that I can use to help get the first paid clients from the butterfly marketing forum, and take it from there. 

I don’t know if you noticed at the weekend that I usually wear Hawaiian shirts. Only decent ones ;-), ripcurl, quicksilver etc. I’m in to surfing you see.  But I’ve thought of using this to brand me in the same way you’ve used orange beetle.  So I’ll wear a loud Hawaiian shirt in the pic on my website, and whenever I go to seminars, courses, meetings, and when I go to see clients, so that people remember me.  “Are you the guy who wears the loud Hawaiian shirts who does copywriting?” 

What do you think to that Idea?

Anyway, this email is huge, LOL, sorry!  I’ll go & get some work done now, but I’ll email you again later today with a kick ass testimonial!

Sorry I didn’t give a video testimonial, to be honest my fear of public speaking kicked in & I chickened out, if the video was being done in another room it would have been a different matter, this is crazy & I don’t know where it’s come from, I love meeting people, and I used to be a band & have sang & played guitar in front of hundreds of people, even thousands of people a couple of times, but I have this fear of speaking in front of groups, dunno where it’s come from, but it’s definitely something I need to work on!

 I’m planning on coming to San Francisco in July, and I’d love to do a course like this again, have you thought about doing refresher / advanced courses for the guys who’ve attended the master class & have gone off & applied what they’ve learned & become copywriters?
