Let’s be honest you don't have the time to find out everything you’re far too busy running your business. Invest in good advice.

I have a client that said he had spent years wondering if he should work with me and take my advice. Eventually, we worked together. My advice gave him an extra 125 customers a day. Those customers had a real value of just over three million a year. That’s a lot of cash he missed that he could have had.

2. BRAND READY

Is your brand just like a label you use in your marketing? Now is the time to re-evaluate your brand and create strategies that will give you maximum visibility, recognisability, position, power and recall.

Do a full brand analysis.

3. GEN Z COMPATIBILITY

GEN Z are today’s biggest buyer. Are you in harmony with how they think or are you still too focused on what your business thinks?

Get to know them, get to understand them and create a comparison chart with their thinking and your company messaging.

4. GET ON PURPOSE

Most businesses exist to make money. The problem is customers today can smell a rat. If you are in it for the money that’s fine but in 2023 it can no longer be the No.1 focus. You must do a comparison with your marketplace. Are you in harmony with how they think, feel and act? If not you will turn buyers off.

What is the real purpose of your business and does it have a social impact?

Do a comparison with what is truly the purpose of your business and compare it with the current marketplace.

5. MEASURE THE DIFFERENCE

You might think you are different but are you? The strong markets are all doing something significantly different. To prepare for 2023 you need to ask yourself what are we doing differently. Don’t forget you might be No.1 5 in your business type but No.1 is the only option in 2023.

Do a difference comparison with all those that you would consider being your competition.

6. VIDEO - REELS - STORIES - FILM

What we know is video is now huge. GEN Z devours and wants more videos. Film is huge. Film regardless of the length still gets watched. TV advertising is cheap and still the No.1 way to connect.

Are you doing video? Is the video good enough, in harmony with your buyers and is it getting watched?

Find the best video channels online and compare your channel or video to them. Ask questions and open the questions up. Don’t forget the 17-year-old in your office probably knows more about video that your marketing director.

Do a video comparison and ask yourself is this what your buyers want?

7. CHANGES

When did you start your business? When is the last time you made a real change to your business? Create a comparison against businesses in the same line that are thriving on change. Also, look at businesses that are not related but would fit well into your marketplace. 

If you haven’t made changes you must draw up a list of changes ready for 2023.
